This is probably a long shot, but will MSBee work with the compact framework 1.1? We have a system that works on both the Compact Framework and Full Framework 1.1, and would like to use MSBee to compile both using VS 2005. So does MSBee work with the compact framework, or are we stuck in 2003 for the forseable future?

I doubt MSBee will work with the compact framework; it wasn't a design consideration and it's not a scenario we've tested.

One thing you may try, as opposed to MSBee, is using the "v1" compact framework .targets files. These files define the build process steps for projects that target .NET Compact Framework version 1.0. The files are Microsoft.CompactFramework.CSharp.v1.Targets and Microsoft.CompactFramework.VisualBasic.v1.Targets and they reside in the .NET 2.0 framework directory. Since the "v1" .targets files import their corresponding "regular" .targets, I think you can just replace the currently imported .targets file with a "v1" .targets file in your project's Import element.

If this solution isn't sufficient, then compact framework compatibility could be added by the developer community once MSBee is released as shared source.
